Kamalnathan committee meeting

Today Kamalnathan committee meeting took place where decisions were taken to expedite the division of staff between both the states. Those who are going to be divided and have no objection will be allowed to move from one state to other without waiting for the final notification of all cadres. And it was also decided the division process will be taken up department by department and completed.
        Home Secretary held a meeting with both Chief Secretaries and line Departments of Government of India regarding the implementation of different assurances and schemes promised in the act, like setting up of institutes of Higher learning, Petroleum refinery, Road connectivity, Fiscal measures, and Special package etc,. All the concerned line departments appraised the progress in this regard.
        Homed Secretary also took meeting of the bilateral issues. State Government of AP was able to effectively put forth its arguments on issues of schedule X institutions where the committee's attention was drawn to part VI of the act which clearly says that these institutions devolve first to the successor state and the need to define Head Quarters' under schedule IX institutions in a more inclusive way.
          The need to operationalise the section 8 of the Act was emphasized. The need for a common exam for a common admission process was also put forth before the committee.  And the committee favorably reacted to AP Government's view points.
