Andhra Pradesh government bans web based cabs

It is informed that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has not given licence to any web based taxi service to operate in the State. In its advisory to all the States, the Ministry of Home affairs, Government of India directed to ensure that operations of such services are stopped and that public may be advised not to hire any transport service provided by the web based companies which are not licensed by the State Government.  Hence all web based taxi service providers which are not licensed are banned in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Instructions were issued to all the DTC & S/ RTAs of all the districts in the State of Andhra Pradesh to ensure that no such operations take place in their districts. They are also directed to conduct regular enforcement checks against the various types of taxis operating in their area to find out whether there are any violations of the provisions of MV Act, CMV Rules, and APMV Rules and to direct the public not to hire any taxi services from any such web based companies which are not licensed by the Government to carry out such activity.
