Debt Redemption has brought relief to farmers: Chandrababu Naidu


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the Debt Redemption programme has brought relief to farmers in the state.

In a review with finance department officials, he recalled his field visits in the last few days and said he has received complaints from people that 2-3 families have the same Aadhar number. He ordered for an enquiry into the matter and asked officials to solve the problem at the earliest.

The Chief Minister also discussed on the bills that will be introduced in the Winter session of Assembly, beginning on December 18th.

He directed the finance department to take the responsibility of strengthening Farmers’ Empowerment Corporation. He added that we have been able to curb discrepancies in various schemes by linking pensions, PDS and scholarships to Aadhar.

The Chief Minister has asked the department to frame a policy on ‘Smart Andhra Pradesh.’ He also reviewed the status of commercial taxes in the state and asked officials to set up meetings with taxpayers and dealers in 13 districts of the state.

The Chief Minister also suggested that an Act be brought out to curb Red Sandalwood smuggling and ensure that the smugglers are punished severely. This, he opined, would bring about a change in all those who amass wealth illegally or through illegal
