Ravi Shankar Prasad meets K. Chandrashekar Rao on ITIR Hyderabad
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology
said that a separate postal circle has been approved and sanctioned for
Telangana and a post of CPMG has also been created. The Union Minister has
called on the Honourable Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao at secretariat
this morning. The Chief Minister told
the Union Minister that, the Government of India has set up an Information
Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad and for creation of
Infrastructure certain places have been identified in Hyderabad. He said, that, the IT companies which are
already in existence in Hyderabad liked to expand and need facilities for
education and health in ITIR region.
Responding to this the Union Minister said that Hyderabad is an
intellectual place and is nationally and internationally recognised as a IT Hub.
The CM mentioned about the National Geographic identifying Hyderabad as one of
the top best places in the world.
The CM
made a request to the Union Minister, that, the Central Government support of
Rs. 165 Crores to the ITIR of Hyderabad is inadequate and needs to be increased
for which the Union Minister responded positively and said that a formal
request to be sent to his ministry from state Government. ITIR is set up to
promote investment in IT/ITES and Electronic Hardware sector. ITIR, Hyderabad
in an area of 202 Sq.Kms .(49.913 acres) is identified in and around Hyderabad
Metropolitan Area – such as (i) Cyberabad Development Authority (CDA),
including Gachibowli and Madhapur; (ii)
Hyderabad Airport Development Authority (HADA) covering Mamidipally, Raviryal, Adibatla &
Maheswaram and (iii) Uppal & Pocharam areas. The ITIR is expected to attract a total
investment of about Rs. 2,19,440 crores of which the IT/ITES sector is expected
to attract investments of Rs. 1,18,355 crores and the EHM sector will attract
investment of Rs. 1,01,085 crores. For
creation of external physical infrastructure, a financial assistance to the
tune of Rs. 4863 crores (Phase-I Rs. 942 crores and Phase II- Rs.3921 crores)
is sought from GoI and on consideration Government of India approved Central
support to an extent of Rs. 3275 crores (Phase-I Rs. 165 crores and Phase-II
Rs. 3110 crores).
The Chief Minister has also brought to the
notice of Union Minister that his Government enacted a New Industrial Policy
known as self certification which is the best policy in the world and handed
over a copy of policy to him. The Union
Minister mentioned, that, Hyderabad is a place of Excellency in so many ways
and also appreciated the good team work of Telangana State Government in taking
forward policies and programme of the Government. He said that he is available
for Telangana State Government and the Chief Minister always for any kind of
assistance in IT and Communication field. He also said, that, he is fascinated
to read several things about Telangana.
IT Minister Sri. K.T. Rama Rao, Chief Secretary
Sri. Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Sri S. Narsing Rao and Parliament
Member Sri. Boora Narsaiah Goud are present in the meeting.
