Thomson brand forays into India in TV & Large Appliances market

 Thomson, a Technicolor group brand, today announced the launch of Thomson LED TVs and Large Home Appliances in India. Thomson products will be manufactured at the state of the facility located in Telangana, India with a total investment of Rs.300 Crores over a period of two years by Resolute Electronics India. This investment will help increase the existing production capacity of LED TVs and set up the manufacturing of large home appliances including Refrigerators, Washing Machines and Air Conditioners. The facility is expected to provide an additional direct employment of more than 500 people.

The Thomson branded LED TV product range was inaugurated by Sri K Taraka Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister to Panchayat Raj & IT, Telengana, India and Ms. Manuele Wahl, Senior Vice President, Technicolor.

Besides the popular range of Thomson LED TVs, a new exciting range including SMART and UHD LED Thomson TVs will be launched by the festival season. In addition, a range of large home appliances will also be introduced. With this launch, the Thomson brand showcases its commitment in providing the Indian customer with fashionable and ergonomically designed consumer electronics and durables. These products with advanced features and latest technologies, will be available at affordable prices.

Speaking at the launch, Sri K. Taraka Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister to Panchayat Raj & IT, Telanganacommented, “It gives me great pleasure to know that Thomson, a prestigious international brand, has chosen Telangana as its manufacturing and distribution base. These manufacturing initiatives will generate direct and indirect employment through the development of the Consumer Electronics Ecosystem.”

Thomson LED TVs will be manufactured at Resolute’s state-of-the art manufacturing facility at Hyderabad. Resolute has signed an exclusive agreement with Technicolor S.A. that will enable the company to use the Thomson brand for the LED TV range and other large home appliances.
