Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and K T.Rama Rao met Cement manufacturing Units in Telangana

Hon’ble Minister for Industries Shri Jupally Krishna Rao and Hon’ble Minister for IT & PR Shri K.T.Rama Rao  met with the  representatives of Cement manufacturing Units in Telangana at the Secretariat today to discuss the issue of supply of cement for white topping roads and other civil works in the state.
The White Topping Technology was first tried out on Road No.10, Bajarahills, Hyderabad, This is the cost effective sustainable, timebomb construction. The advantage of this white tapping technology is the reduced thickness, reduced/zero maintenance, and long life of 25-30 years without maintenance.  It was not used earlier due to non availability of cement and mechanised equipment. This white tapping road laying basically is where an inch of the existing road is scraped off, concrete with fibre is laid, sprayed with powder, curing and groove cutting is done to avoid cracks and expansions .
It is planned to lay 400 -500 Kms Road in Hyderabad in two months time.  Hence this meeting was called specifically with the representatives of cement industries to negotiate on the price of the cement. The industry has coated Rs. 250/- each bag. The Ministers had requested them to re consider and give a lower quote keeping in view to the high amount of work which is being taken up both for roads as well as construction of houses.  The IT Minister also stated that they intended to take this technology to districts and villages and in future would convert all to from BT to CC Road with white topping technology. The Minister said that Telangana has the highest urban population in the country and stood at around 42% and said that very soon the roads would be uniform and world class  all over the state.

The representative from the industry requested for a days time to get back regarding the price. Representatives from India cements, Rain Cements, JayPee Cements, Deccan, Penna, Keerthi industries, Zuari Cements, Anjani Portland Cement, Kakatiya, Kesoram, and other cement industries to participated in the discussion. It was also informed that 1060 km, Yamuna Express Way with white topping technology was laid which is outstanding example along with the Marine Drive in Mumbai.
