Telangana FINANCE MINISTER TO VISIT NEW DELHI

Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Sri Etela Rajender going to Delhi today evening 6.40 PM to attend  all the State Finance Ministers meeting with Union Finance Minister Sri Arun Jaitley at Delhi tomorrow  26th  time 2 PM to 5 PM at banquet hall "The Ashok"" New Delhi. Focus of this meeting would be on macro-economic policy and issues that require policy attention for fiscal consolidation. given the  need for coordination and cooperation between the Central and State Governments in meeting the challenges for sustaining our growth and development process.

TELANGANA TABLEAU IN REPUBLIC DAY PARADE

Telangana state has got an opportunity to display its Tableau (Sakatam) during the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on the eve of 26th January. The Union Ministry of Defence informed the news. TRS MP Jithender Reddy conveyed spl  thanks to the Union Defense Minister on behalf of Govt of Telangana. The Tableau will consist of Bonalu theme with a Rocky back ground. Potharaju will also be included in theme. I & PR commissioner Chandravadan will finalize the display theme. Mr Jitender reddy MP met Defence Minister today regarding permission to display our state Tableau. "Happy to inform that Minister has agreed to let the I & PR dept to start preparations for presenting our Telangana state Tableau. We are extremely grateful" this was conveyed by Jitender Reddy to the Commissioner I & PR this afternoon, Mr. Chandravadan.

President of India condoles the passing away of G. Venkataswamy

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of Shri G. Venkataswamy. In a condolence message to his son, Shri G. Vivekanand, the President has said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri G. Venkataswamy. Shri Venkataswamy was a senior Congress leader, veteran Parliamentarian and an able administrator who served the nation in different capacities. He served with distinction as a member of the Union Council of Ministers. In his death, we have lost an eminent leader who always worked for the upliftment of the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and Shri Venkataswamy’s countless friends and well-wishers. I pray to the Almighty to give you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss”.

Andhra Pradesh Government to call global tenders for sale of barytes

Andhra Pradesh Government plans to call global tenders for sale of barytes minerals and has also appointed Capital Fortunes Pvt Ltd as transaction advisor. Reviewing the barytes issue at the secretariat today the chief secretary Sri I Y R Krishna Rao said the sale of barytes will be linked to international prices on a floating basis. He said  the Government had  already cancelled the  G.O. 206  on grant of leases of  barytes mines  and set up a Technical committee vide  G.O.RT 398 to process  the  tenders  for sale of barytes   in a transparent manner. The Chief Secretary said the Department has also been asked to study feasibility of setting a solar fencing at the barytes mining area, and achieve greater automation in grading, loading and transportation of  barytes  minerals. The Mining department   has also been advised to set up  surveillance cameras in mining area, take up computerization of the records and also promote RFID tagging for the vehicles carrying the mineral.  Sr

TS Government to solve Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL) problems

C. Partha Sarathi, Commissioner of Civil Supplies & Ex-Officio Secretary to Government held a meeting of the Oversight Committee on DBTL  today, with the Asst. Director General, UIDAI, State Level Coordinators  of the Oil Companies, State Level Bankers Committee and other officials of Oil Companies and Banks.         Commissioner of Civil Supplies has instructed the Bankers to solve the grievances being faced by LPG consumers as well as LPG dealers with regard to seeding and software problems.  He also advised all the District Collectors to urgent call for a meeting of the District Level Bankers to expedite the Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL).  The Committee discussed about the improvement of the  Cash Transfer Compliant (CTC)   percentage i.e. about transfer of subsidy, the Aadhaar seeding at LPG dealer point and at Banks.    It was decided that: i)             A meeting will be convened by the Collectors concerned with the Lead District Managers through the S

In its first philanthropic endeavour, NAADAM has so far met the tuition fees and hostel charges of 34 SWAEROES. AP to have Skill Development University: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu

  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the state will soon have a Skill Development University. In a conference with Vice-Chancellors of Universities, the Chief Minister suggested them to use modern methods of teaching to revamp the education system in the state. He added that teaching methods have to be made innovative and every day should be different for students. Instead of rote learning, the Chief Minister added that VCs and teachers have to push students to think creatively and come up with better ways of comprehending their thoughts into words. On improving curriculum in higher education, the Chief Minister said that AP has to aim to adapting international standards of teaching which allow students to visualize and speak them out. Giving examples of Gross Enrollment Ratio in US, UK and Japan at 95%, 69% and 92%, respectively, the Chief Minister said that AP too has to aim at achieving such rates. Chandrababu Naidu said that modern technologies and equipment will be incorporated in agriculture sector in the state to make farming profitable and sustainable. Following the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s MoU with Sumitomo Corporation in agriculture during his visit to Japan, the Chief Minister today asked the Sumitomo delegation to begin work in agriculture sector by June 2015. GMR appointed APSDC chairman Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu has appointed industrialist Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao as the chairman for AP Skill Development Corporation. During the meeting, the Chief Minister was given a presentation on skill development plan in the state. The Chief Minister said that Mr Rao has the capability of changing the face of the state in skill upgradation. The budget allocated for the skill development program in the state is Rs700 crore. In 10 years, the Chief Minister said, about 2 crore people will be part of the government’s skill development program. At the end of the training session, these people will receive certificates. In a review with finance department officials, he recalled his field visits in the last few days and said he has received complaints from people that 2-3 families have the same Aadhar number. He ordered for an enquiry into the matter and asked officials to solve the problem at the earliest. The Chief Minister also discussed on the bills that will be introduced in the Winter session of Assembly, beginning on December 18th.
